Larimar was first discovered in the early 20th century in the Dominican Republic by a local Dominican and a visiting Peace Corps volunteer. They named the stone Larimar after combining Larissa, the name of the local man's daughter, and mar, the Spanish word for sea, after the crystal’s resemblance to the waters of the Caribbean. Larimar is formed through a combination of volcanic activity and hydrothermal processes, and is primarily composed of pectolite, a sodium calcium silicate mineral. It owes its distinctive blue colour to the presence of copper impurities.

Import Duties & Taxes (outside the UK)

Import duties and taxes for international shipments may be liable to be paid upon arrival in destination country. This varies by country, and Tali and Loz encourage you to be aware of these potential costs before placing an order with us.

If you refuse to pay duties and taxes upon arrival at your destination country, the goods will be returned to Tali and Loz at the customers expense, and the customer will receive a refund for the value of goods paid, minus the cost of the return shipping. The cost of the initial shipping will not be refunded.
